The Canada Meets Germany Alumni Forum announces the launch of a new conference series, the

German Canadian Concourse

The pilot conference will take place on

October 12, 2012
at the
Embassy of Canada in Berlin.

Together with experts from the railway, aviation and automotive industries, as well as representatives from governmental and research institutions, CMG-AF will discuss the topic

"Energy Efficiency in Transportation".

Program

Energy efficiency is an important topic and will continue to receive attention on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. It is important for transportation of goods and individual transport. It is also a key sustainability issue for industry and society.

The event will address several questions: Which initiatives are put forward by companies and legislators in regard to energy-saving transportation systems? Who are the main players? Which countries are using energy-saving transportation? What are the next steps on international base to implement those systems?

The event will approach these questions by the means of a "field trip" to the company site of an industrial partner in the transportation sector (morning) and a conference session (afternoon).

Participants of this conference will be the members of the CMG-AF and others interested in German-Canadian topics, in particular sustainable transportation solutions. Most guests will be from Germany. In order to discuss the topic with experts, CMG-AF invites representatives of different transport sectors such as railway transportation, aviation or automotive industry as well as representatives of governmental institutions to participate as speakers or in the plenum. We expect 30-40 people to attend the conference.

The conference language will be English.
